COVID-19 Emergency Assist

“And most certainly shall We try you by means of danger, and hunger, and loss of worldly goods, of lives and of wealth. But give glad tidings unto those who are patient in adversity – who, when calamity befalls them, say, ‘Verily, unto Allah do we belong and, verily, unto Him we shall return.’ It is they upon whom their Sustainer’s blessings and grace are bestowed, and it is they, who are on the right path!” -Quran (2: 155-157)

South Africa like the rest of the world is gripped by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing, sanitising, and not forgetting face masks as means of protecting oneself from the virus has become the norm of everyday life.

While COVID-19 threatens all sections of society, the 30.1% unemployed population, and many being classified as the poor working class who live on salary to salary, struggling to access food and adequate healthcare, this virus has hit them the hardest, and caused a deepening crisis.

HUDA SA in partnership with The Charity and Welfare Foundation has sponsored the following to ease the burdens of COVID-19: –

  • 128 x 25 L Sanitisers, …
  • 85 units x 1.5 L Pressure Bottles
  • 20 units x 57 boxes Masks
  • 1430 Locally produced face reusable masks
  • 120 Medical grade goggles
  • 66 Thermometers

These items were distributed by HUDA SA to healthcare centres, various Masjids and Musallahs in KwaZulu Natal and Lesotho.

May Allah remove COVID-19 and its afflictions on us, and those who are sick May they be healed by His Mercy and those who have passed on May their sins be forgiven and granted the highest abode in Jannah, InshaAllah Ameen.
