Working Together in Illovo

HUDA SA has been researching the work of Muslim Organisations within eThekwini Municipality (Durban) with the goal of developing the Muslim Integrated Development Plan South Africa (MIDP SA).

As per the findings of the research, many Community Based Islamic Centres often cannot make ends meet as a result this directly impacts negatively on the services that they are intending to offer that will uplift their communities. One of the few Centres is the Illovo Islamic Centre.

As of January 2020 HUDA SA assists the Illovo Islamic Centre with a basic monthly grant and has so far sponsored a freezer as they need to store food for their daily feeding schemes, sheep for Qurbani (Eid-ul-Adha 2020) which was distributed to the families and OVCs of Illovo, and other items to ensure that the running of the centre is smooth sailing.
