In July 2017, HUDA SA was conducting research of the work of Muslim Organisations and developing the Muslim Integrated Development Plan (MIDP). One of the organisations that we met and assessed was Imaan Trust.
Imaan Trust is a community-based organisation (CBO) that established a small orphanage in Umbumbulu in 2015. They assisted 54 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Umbumbulu. 20 OVC were living at the Village and 34 attending the Madressa.
Imaan Trust was going to close the orphanage due to lack of funding, therefore they requested assistance and support from HUDA SA. It was at this juncture that HUDA SA started working in partnership with the Imaani Trust to support the orphanage via an integrated development program which was then named the Imaani Family Village.

The children living in the incomplete small Madressa section of the Masjid. HUDA SA requested that the children be temporarily moved into the clinic building. As much as the conditions in the clinic were not great they were better than the classroom. We intended to build proper homes for the children.
HUDA SA was a fairly new organisation at that time it could only assist to with mattresses, feeding and welfare grants for staff.
The construction of the first double-story cottage at Imaani Family Village began, signifying a commitment to the organization's capacity to accommodate the children in a family and home environment. This development was a substantial step forward in the organization's journey to create a safe and loving environment for the OVC living at the Village.
The first double-story cottage at Imaani Family Village was built and the 20 OVC moved into their new homes. The cottages are designed to house 20 children, 10 in each cottage, in a family-like environment with the presence of two housemothers one in each cottage, representing a holistic approach to caregiving and support.
These cottages are equipped to provide housing, nutritious meals, and educational support to the OVC, offering them a stable and secure environment for their growth and development.
Each cottage consists of a library which is a valuable resource for the children's educational and personal development. It provides access to a wide range of books, including educational materials, encourages a love for reading and learning it also promotes literacy, helps with school assignments, and encourages a culture of lifelong learning amongst the children.
The construction of the second double-story cottage has started. The bottom cottage will house 10 children and the top cottage will house flats for the Imam and the auxiliary staff demonstrating the organization's commitment to expanding its capacity and providing a stable and loving home for more OVC. The second cottage will continue to embrace the family-like environment, allowing for close bonds among children and dedicated caregivers. As with the first cottage, the second cottage will likely feature amenities and resources that contribute to the children's overall development, such as an in-house library and other educational facilities.
We are now establishing a computer centre with 4 computers. This centre will serve as a hub for the community members can access information on various topics, including healthcare, education, job opportunities, government programs, and more. By offering resources and opportunities for community members to improve their lives and well-being, the information centre can contribute to long-term, sustainable community development.
A hall and kitchen facility that will generate income for the Village as it will be let out to the community for functions.
A functional clinic that will be used by the Umbumbulu community.
In 2022 Caring Sisters Network (CSN) assisted in expanding the rear section of the Masjid. This added functionality to the Masjid, allowing it to be used as a hall. Such renovations and enhancements not only help preserve the Masjid but also make it a more versatile and accommodating space for the community, allowing it to serve multiple functions and activities.
Since the beginning of 2023, IEOSA has partnered with HUDA SA to facilitate the implementation of a Madressa syllabus.
